The new Montessori Commons Building was a 28,500 square foot facility built for the Charleston County School District to be shared by both the Montessori Community School of Charleston and Springfield Elementary School. The building was comprised of a Media Center, Kitchen, Cafeteria, Multi-Purpose, Art, and Music rooms. The exterior was brick veneer masonry against metal stud framing with spray foam insulation. The roof over the sloped structure was a standing seam metal system.
