New Vidalia High School

 The Vidalia High School construction is currently underway. The facility will be approximately 182,000 square feet. The building is mostly 1 story with the exception of the balcony areas at the Gymnasium and Auditorium. Characteristics include: load bearing CMU, brick veneer, structural steel columns, beams and bar joists, aluminum curtain walls and storefronts, EIFS, lightweight insulated concrete roof system, TPO roof finish, metal roof panels, aluminum protective covers and wall hung canopies, sunshades, terrazzo floors, epoxy resinous floors, Athletic wood and rubber floors, decorative gypsum throughout common areas and other construction features. The building exterior is designed with perimeter parapets providing easy maintenance and exceptional curb appeal. This new facility is adjacent to the current High School and will be integrated into the campus thus providing seamless accessibility to the current Football Stadium, Fieldhouse, Baseball and Softball Fields, Tennis Courts and Practice Football/Soccer Field both properties. Toombs County High School

This facility is new construction of 192,000 square foot high school. The building is 1 story with the following characteristics: load bearing CMU, brick veneer, structural steel columns, beams and bar joists, aluminum curtain walls and storefronts, EIFS, light- weight insulated concrete roof system, TPO roof finish, Architectural radius metal structure and metal roof panels, terrazzo floors, epoxy resinous floors, Athletic wood and rubber floors, decorative gypsum throughout common areas, and other con-struction features. Areas included in this project are Commons, Administration, CTAE wing, Science Labs, Gymnasium, Kitchen, Cafeteria, Gym Locker Rooms, Varsity Football Locker Room, Cheerleader/Wrestle Room, Band & Chorus Room, and last but not least the 2 story state of the art Auditorium. Site infrastructure supports the property and numer-ous entry/exits and parking areas. Special features include the Agriculture Lab in the CTAE wing providing a welding lab and industrial arts capabilities for student instruction.

Button Gwinnett Elementary School

Button Gwinnett Elementary School was a project that was scheduled and completed during the 2016 summer break. The project consisted of a 4,000 square foot kitchen addition. Complete renovation of existing media center, cafeteria, and kitchen to form new layouts for a new media center/staff lounge in the center of the hexagon building and convert the old kitchen into the new cafeteria. TQ Constructors was the Construction Manager and was involved in the early design stages which include consulting with the school system to value engineer this project. By being involved, TQ Constructors proposed several alternate materials and designs that allowed TQ Constructors to provide a GMP well below the original construction budget and to complete the renovation in the short timeframe allowed.

JR Trippe Middle School

The purpose of this project was to upgrade the mechanical systems while simultaneously providing a facelift. JR Trippe was renovated durning the school’s summer break. Cosmetic work included interior renovation which involved flooring removal and replacement, painting, acoustical ceiling removal and replacement, reverse the swing on all existing classroom doors, CMU wall demolition and installation of new room layouts, and new epoxy flooring in specified areas. MEP work included new lighting and electrical in new ceilings, new energy recovery units in every corridor, placed on new pourin- place concrete mezzanines, and new wall hung HVAC units at every classroom. In the kitchen new make-up air supply was provided. Exterior work included a new decorative steel canopy with architectural standing seam metal roof. New aluminum bus canopies, sidewalks, repaint and re-stucco where required, new masonry entry columns and wall seating.
